The final aspect of the project involved detailing considerations for 6 components: 1) Lightweight Facade System 2) Skylight 3) Green Roof 4) Raised Floor System 5) Partition Wall 5) Suspended Ceiling. Through this exercise involving sourcing for suppliers and studying how different systems interfaced, I gained a deeper knowledge of how details were designed to retain the clarity of the design language, as well as express different areas of the building. This gave me a stronger appreciation for micro design and the individual elements of a component.
Furthermore, planning the layout of the reflected ceiling plan for the feature space provided me with a more profound understanding of how air-conditioning systems, and the features space section helped me to visualise how ducts and other elements were hidden from the human eye.
The model was constructed with bristol for the slabs and false ceilings, while acryllic sheets were used for all glass elements. In addition, the composite panels were made with sheets of coloured paper that were folded to form the panels. The feature space is constructed using layers of basswood to show the undulating effect of the raised floor system.
