Our task was to design a pavilion at the site of the Changi Chapel as a prelude/aftermath to the Changi Museum. I wanted the pavilion to serve as a memorial for visitors to pay respects to the fallen before visiting the museum.
This was our first truly architectural project where we had to have a solid understanding of materials, construction and design, and develop a creativity for expressing emotions through spaces.
I went through four process models before I was satisfied that the design would fully serve its purpose. I then refined the design by adding water-features and planning the spaces.
